Attention vermont sexual abuse survivors: In June 2019, Vermont lawmakers passed H.330, a bill that eliminates the time limits for survivors of sexual abuse to bring forward claims against their abusers. H.330 completely removes the previous six-year statute of limitations on child sex abuse cases and lets abuse victims bring claims against organizations, institutions, and companies that allowed abuse to happen. This bill is the strongest form of reform in the country to date!
Additionally, Vermont opened a “look back” window for past abuse survivors to bring forward old or expired claims and pursue justice in civil court. Even claims considered “ineligible” due to time restrictions can be brought forward during this window. Best of all, THIS LOOK BACK WINDOW NEVER EXPIRES.
